We are in Sweden, but there are people from Norway, Denmark, Finland, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Romania, Vietnam, China, Nepal, Germany, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Peru. We are in an international retreat working with ayahuasca and psychotherapy.

We are 50 people of 15 different nationalities who meet with the same goal: finding new and more effective ways to solve problems, to expand our potential, to overcome limits and to access to a new kind of spirituality based on enriching the human experience; as if everyone there spoke the Esperanto of personal well-being and inner evolution. Suddenly, it seemed as if those languages searching to find the way out to solutions or answers were united in a very same common language… and it seems as if this fusion of Ayahuasca & Psychotheraphy was creating the right conditions for bringing together those diverse and geographically distant people.

Both participants and the 8 collaborating facilitators come from distant countries namely Germany, Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. All of them challenged to overcome cultural and religious trends footprints, leaving behind their backs all kind of tradition and every model of how things should be done to access to a new and spontaneous healing space where every decision is taken intuitively as if following an spiritual-ecumenical movement. Therapeutic dynamics, shamanic chants, ícaros, guitar sounds, no-therapy, confrontations, psychotherapy, emotional and cathartic breakouts. Surprisingly, when it seems there is not a way out …the magic appears to guide us through a feeling of trust. We realize over and over again in each retreat we organize, there is nothing to do but trust that powerful energy that comes down and acts by itself out of a previous planning, external intervention or recognition… it is not required to intervene or to evaluate what we are doing because, in fact, when “not-doing” things happen.

At the end of this retreat and after greeting each participant personally, Elmer (the Shaman of Peru) and I met, observing that joy within everyone leaving with a new intention: looking forward not backwards. We cannot talk about what we did because we did nothing… but there is one thing we can do: ask ourselves how to teach European Ayahuasca School´s students to learn what we cannot teach them. In fact, what they are bound to learn is to “not-do”. We look at each other and see something awesome is going on… but none is in charge of that magic.

Nevertheless, there is something we can do: trust the fact that fate will provide with moments and situations, tools and gifts to continue inspiring those people around the world to join this crazy adventure through all kinds of internal and external borders, to get to the core of healing. That timeless place where it all starts to happen.

To those who open their hearts to this madness, welcome to this new club of international healing.
